Private Lessons

Adaptive Private Lessons
Downhill skiing is for everyone, and we want to help you get outside and on the snow this winter! Select instructors are available for private lessons every week and lesson costs are covered thanks to the support of the North American Squirrel Association (NASA). Friday: Corporate Night

Corporate Night runs every Friday night during the season from 3 pm – 8pm. Enjoy Mt. La Crosse with your family & coworkers and receive discounted lifts, rentals, and a discounted lesson on Corporate Night.

Enjoy a fun-filled Family Night Ski or Snowboard Lesson! Perfect for beginners ages 10 and up!
You’ll learn techniques in a supportive, group environment, making new friends or spending time with your family while improving your confidence on the slopes. Sign up today and ski or snowboard with others who share your passion for adventure!

Snow Bears
Ages: 6 – 10
Times: Holidays, Saturdays & Sundays from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Children will have fun learning in a supportive, kid-friendly environment for 3 hours! Students will enjoy the morning in a fun class based on ability, followed by lunch with their instructor, and then finish the day with more learning on the slopes!
- Ability classes: Bunny Hill class for Never Evers and Chair Lift class for beginners!
- A minimum of 3 participants, and a maximum of 8 participants to run each class.
- Classes are subject to change based on sign-up demand and instructor availability.
- Lift ticket is valid until 4pm for additional practice time
- At parents discretion, based on students ability to ski/board on their own

Polar Pals: First-Time Ski Racers
- Level: Beginner
- Ages: 6 & up
- Learning objective: Learn the basics of ski techniques and foundational skills that will allow your skier to become more independent and provide a good base for future racing.
- Skills Required: Stopping, turning, comfortable on green runs & learning on blue runs, ability to ride chairlift unassisted, willing to explore new/difficult terrain
- Dates: Saturdays starting January 4 – February 22
- (No Class February 15)
- Time: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
- Cost: $200
- Season Pass or valid daily lift ticket required to participate.

Grizzly Gliders: Beginner – Intermediate Ski Racers
- Level: Intermediate
- Ages: 7 & up
- Learning Objective: Graduates of Polar Pals, that want to learn more about ski techniques and racing. Some NASTAR races included during class time to help gain some gate experience!
- Skills Required: *Graduate of Polar Pals or proficient in Polar Pals required skills (see Polar Pals)
- Comfortable on blue runs & learning on black runs, willing to explore advanced terrain, and interested in learning racing specific skills
- Dates: Saturdays starting January 4 – February 22
- (No Class February 15)
- Time: 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
- Cost: $240
- Season Pass or valid daily lift ticket required to participate.

Kacy’s Kids: First-Time Snowboard Racers
- Level: Beginner
- Ages: 7 & up
- Learning Objective: Learn the techniques in carving, speed control and building confidence on the slopes
- Skills Required: Stopping, turning, comfortable on green runs & learning on blue runs, ability to ride chairlift unassisted, willing to explore new/difficult terrain
- Dates: Saturdays starting January 4 – February 22

Saturday Series
- Ages: 10 and up!
- Instruction: 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Learn how to ski or snowboard in a small group setting over 3 course dates! You’ll learn the skills it takes to get out on the slopes and get consistent practice to help those skills stick!

Introduction to Skiing or Snowboarding: Adult Beginner Group Lesson
Introduction to Skiing or Snowboarding is your gateway to enjoying the thrill of the slopes in a supportive, fun, and encouraging environment! Whether you’re a complete beginner or have limited experience, this program is designed to help you build confidence, learn the basics, and have fun while discovering the joys of skiing and boarding!
Bring some friends along for the fun or sign-up solo, either way you’ll be guided by experienced, patient instructors who are passionate about helping adult learners master the fundamentals of skiing and snowboarding
- Dates: December 22nd, January 5th, January 19th, February 2nd, February 16th, March 2nd & March 16th.
- Time: 12:00pm – 1:30pm (1.5 hour lesson)
- Ages: 18+
- Level: Beginner (Never skied/snowboarded, learning on bunny hill)
- Price: $65

- Snowbears lesson program will operate from 11am-2pm with a pizza lunch in the middle (see Snowbears lesson description above)
- Private One-hour & Two-hour lessons will be offered with start times of 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm, 3:30pm, 4:30pm & 5:30pm
Lesson Procedures
- We encourage guests to come dressed and ready!
- Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of your lesson time.
- Check-in at the Ski School desk in the Sitzplatz with your barcode (from purchase email) to scan in and get tickets.
- If rentals are needed, you’ll be directed to the rentals lesson line to get geared up.
- Lesson takers will meet their instructor at the educational meeting place sign outside.
- All personal gear that isn’t needed for lessons will be left with parents, stored in the boardroom, or dropped off at vehicle before the start of lesson.
- To pick up participants at the end of the lesson time, please meet the instructor by the educational meeting place sign or discuss your pickup plan before the lesson begins.
Lesson Policies
- ALL CLASSES are subject to instructor availability.
- Mt. La Crosse reserves the right to reschedule or cancel any lessons for any reason at our discretion. In the case of a hill closure, lessons can be rescheduled or returned in full.
- Rescheduling Policy
- To reschedule lessons, please call (608) 788-0044 and ask for ski school. You must do so at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled lesson date. If you fail to do so, you will forfeit your lesson credit and the ability to reschedule.
- Cancellation Policy
- Cancel 48 hours or more prior to scheduled lesson date = Full lesson credit considered
- Cancel within 48 hours prior to scheduled lesson date = No lesson credit / No refund
- All lessons begin promptly at their designated times. Please allow enough time to arrange for lift tickets and equipment rentals prior to the lesson’s start time. Due to the size of the Resort and the number of children enrolled in our activities, we are not able to accommodate late arrivals.
- Mt. La Crosse does not issue credits, refunds, or exchanges for: No-shows, late arrivals, schedule conflicts, weather conditions, traffic, changing your mind, etc. Showing up late to a lesson is considered a no-show.
- Children must be completely potty-trained, able to communicate and willing to ski/ride in order to be enrolled in lessons.
